Heidi Hagen |

|
|
Heidi became a dedicated and disciplined student of
Ashtanga Yoga in the fall of 2003, when she drove
two hours one-way to Detroit, MI to take her first
teacher training. The connection she felt within
herself by becoming aware of her breath and how it
moved her body was the initial spark that fueled her
passion for the practice. Leaving class with a calm
body and quiet mind kept her motivated to practice
daily so as to continue to heal herself on even
deeper emotional and spiritual levels. Unlike those
who travel halfway around the world to study yoga in
India, Heidi's desire to learn moved her over 2,000
miles from Grand Rapids, MI to Encinitas, CA in
2007. The journey she claims was more like a
homecoming. "The students of the Ashtanga Yoga
Center are like family, supportive and encouraging,
and ever inspired by Tim's unyielding presence and
perseverance for the practice. When not at the AYC,
Heidi teaches math and science to elementary
students. (She has to support her passion somehow!). |

Since then Josh has studied in-depth with senior teachers such as Richard Freeman, Gabriel Halpurn and Tim Miller. Josh teaches both the traditional Ashtanga vinyasa method , as well as more contemporary vinyasa-flow style with an emphasis on precise breathing technique and alignment.
